Two new candidates have been proposed for membership into the Club: The first, Lucas Hayes is President of Delta Oil. The second is Brandon Clark who works with Bill Lunsford Construction. Both candidates were proposed by Rotarian John Owens.

The United Way of West Alabama is looking for volunteers on 12/10/2012 to help build a playground. This will be a full day commitment. For those that are interest in helping contact the UWWA at 205-345-6640.

Jordan Plaster announced that Lee Hallman and all the Veterans of Tuscaloosa Rotary Honor flight have been named Grand marshal of the 2012 West Alabama Christmas Parade scheduled for December 3, 2012. He stated they are looking for modes of suitable transportation for the parade like old jeeps, a bus, tractor trailer, etc.

Secondly, plans are in the works for a Tuscaloosa Rotary Honor Flight for 2013. WWII Vets will receive highest priority in the selection process, while local Korean War Vets will be accepted if room allows. Plans are also in the works for a trip for Korean War Veterans to their memorial. Jordan stated the club would have a lot of work to do, and it will take about $30,000 to make it happen.
