Senator Gerald Allen is serving his first term in the Alabama Senate after serving four terms in the House of Representatives. He serves Distrct 21, which consisits of Hale, Pickens & Tuscsaloosa Counties. He received a B.S. Degree in Education from the University of Alabama and is the owner of CASHCO Marketing. During his almost two decades of service to his district, he has sponsored and passed numerous bills of local and statewide importance.

In 1995 as a freshman Representative, he was instrumental in passing the Mercedes Bill that fulfilled the state’s commitment to build the Mercedes plant in Vance, AL. This opened the door to other automotive manufacturers locating in the state. He was also responsible for legislation that tightened requirements and restrictions on sport’s agents operating in the State of Alabama. That measure became a model for other states across the nation.

Senator Allen and his wife Sheila are the parents of three grown children: Wes, Kellie and Jill, and have five grandchildren. In addition to serving as a Deacon of Gilgal Baptist Church, he is involved in various community and civic activities.

Senator Allen will speak on the upcoming ammendendments the State Constitution and give an update on the agenda for the upcoming legislative session.
