Last week Rotarian Mitchell Loper took part in the Club’s new program of interviewing Club members to help Tuscaloosa Rotarians get to know everyone a little better. The tenth Rotarian to be interviewed was Lee Henderson. Lee has been a Rotarian since 2005. He grew up in Decatur, AL, and graduated college from Samford University in Birmingham, where he later met his wife Leigh. They have been married for 11 years and have two kids, Blake and Riley. Lee owns 2 Smoothie King Stores. Lee lost his 15th street store in last year’s tornado. Javier Arenas mentioned the 15th street store in Sports Illustrated. Lee is about to open a new franchise concept in town, along with family real estate ventures. Lee’s passions are the lake, working, and community involvement in the YMCA. Lee was asked what he would do if not working and he said “perfect attendance at Rotary.”
