JG Brazil spoke regarding Rotarian John Shamblin who recently passed away. Although John had not been a Rotarian for that long, his obituary asked for memorial donations to be to the Rotary Foundation. The unique thing is that John wrote his own obituary, so he felt very strongly about this!
Warner announced that Brandt Montgomery is Father Montgomery after being ordained into priesthood this past Sunday at Canterbury.
Dean Moritz reminded everyone that Rotary “Bell Ringing Day” is Saturday 12/15/12 at Wal-Mart on Skyland. Sign up sheets were out at the registration table. We will do this a little differently this year – giving the opportunity for two people to buddy up at both entrances with a kettle.
The Christmas party is going to be on Wednesday, December 12th at the Cypress Inn Loft downtown and the charge will be $25/person. It will go from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. If people would like to sign up please e-mail Elizabeth Hartley how many guests they are bringing with them at ehartley@ua.edu or by phone at 348-8376.
